How do you fix adrenal fatigue? Is it possible to feel vibrant and fully energized every day? I’ve asked myself these questions before, and now I know the answer: yes, it is possible. If you are wondering how to get more energy and how to heal burnout, this episode is for you. I’m sharing the 8 essentials of healing burnout and adrenal fatigue.
8 Essentials for Healing Burnout and Adrenal Fatigue
1 – Stress: chronic stress causes HPA axis dysregulation, which is at the root of adrenal fatigue and burnout. Things like walking outside, going for a bike ride, taking a bath, using the sauna, getting a massage, working in the garden, dancing are all things that can relieve stress.
2- Blood sugar: people that struggle with burnout, adrenal fatigue, and hormone imbalances are more susceptible to blood sugar swings. The goal is to keep blood sugar as balanced as possible throughout the day. Avoid skipping breakfast or eating too light of a breakfast. Make sure to include healthy fats, protein, and fiber with every meal. Do not consume meals too high in sugar and carbs. Try to eat consistently throughout the day.
3 – Sleep: sleep is often disrupted when struggling with adrenal fatigue and burnout. The best thing to do for this is to prioritize your sleep by going to bed early. At least by 10. I’ve found that getting at least 9 hours in bed is best.
4 – Nutrition: Focus on healthy fats to help balance blood sugar and support brain function.
5 – Hydration: Drink half of your body weight in ounces of water per day. But make sure that it’s properly mineralized with electrolytes so that it actually hydrates you!
6 – Immune System Support: stress comprises the immune system so it’s important to give your immune system some extra support. Our Organic Immunity Greens powder is amazing for getting in greens and immune-boosting ingredients daily.
7 – Hormone Imbalances: HPA axis dysregulation is a hormone dysregulation issue. The most simple thing you can do to correct hormone imbalances as it relates to burnout is to develop a healthy stress response. Baths, dancing, meditation, and breathwork are all good ideas to support healthy stress levels.
8 – Gut issues: gut issues are really common with burnout and adrenal fatigue. The best thing you can do to support a healthy gut is by doing practices that help flip your nervous system from sympathetic to parasympathetic. This will improve your digestive system and nourish the gut.
