20 years ago, essential oils weren’t exactly in the “health scene” just yet – though they have been used and praised since ancient times. As we moved away from natural remedies and toward medicines made with synthetic chemicals in a lab, essential oils fell out of the light. Fast forward to today when the essential oils industry is overflowing with big brand names and companies and just about everyone on the internet seems to have an opinion on what the best essential oil company is. Unfortunately, the essential oils industry is unregulated which means that the phrase “best essential oil company” is well…very subjective.

That’s why I decided to do a brand review for the most searched for essential oil brands out there. If you’re new to the essential oils game or are just looking to switch it up, I’m glad you’re here. I am going to review and rate Stillpoint Aromatics essential oils an A+ through F based on price, quality, and selection. To learn more about our rating scale, go here

Before we get into it, you must have a goal in mind. Why are you using essential oils? Do you want a non-toxic cleaning alternative or do you want to reap all the therapeutic benefits? If you want the therapeutic benefits than you need a high-quality brand that you can trust. But, if all you want to do is make your laundry and home smell nice, than a not-so-pure brand is not the worst thing for your bank account. After you’ve figured out your goal, dive in and figure out if Stillpoint Aromatics is the perfect brand for you.

The Basics: Who is Stillpoint Aromatics?

The journey for Virginia Joy began in October of 2009 when she was on the hunt for Rhododendron essential oil. After finding Kailash distiller in Nepal she was connected to more and more distillers and began importing her favorite oils and before she knew it she had over 170 therapeutic quality essential oils. Then in 2010, Stillpoint Aromatics was formally birthed and now sources and imports over 400 essential oils and extracts.

Stillpoint Aromatics also carries resins, flower essences, aromatherapy patches, kits, and supplies.

Price

From the looks of it, Stillpoints prices are right on the money when it comes to high quality. Usually, when something has a higher price tag it means it’s the real deal. You’ll notice on their site that different types of an essential oil have different prices, that is mostly due to the origin of the oil. Pretty cool to see.

Lavender $26 for 15 mL (Stillpoint carries 5 different kinds of lavender, this one falls in the middle of the price pack)

Frankincense $38 / $48 for 15 mL (Stillpoint carries 2 different frankincense oils, and 2 resins.)

Peppermint $15 – $20 for 15 mL (Stillpoint carriers 3 different kinds of peppermint – this is their price range)

*Stillpoint offers most of their essential oils in 2 mL, 5 mL, 15 mL, 30 mL, 60 mL, and 120 mL

Quality

Stillpoint calls their essential oils some of the highest vibration and quality. Their oils are personally and individually sourced and imported from distillers and small farmers world wide. They hand pour every bottle with “conscious intention upon your order”. Their batches are GC/MS tested and then stored in a temperature controlled cold room. They are also nitrogen capped to prevent oxidation. Each essential oil is either certified organic, wild harvested, or un-sprayed.

When you click on a specific essential oil they have, it includes a GC/MS testing report that you can actually see! I did notice that not every single one has a report posted yet. Each oils page has the country of origin, plant parts used, cultivation method, note classification, method of extraction, botanical family, chemical family, extraction date, approx. shelf life, and batch name! Wow – that’s a lot to type! But that’s good!

It also offers other tabs so you can read about the chemistry, therapeutic benefits, uses, recipes, and blends. Overall, Stillpoint is super transparent about their quality testing and I like what I see. I also took advantage of the customer service chat at the bottom of the page and asked Virginia Joy if she did any other testing and she said she uses four different third party chemists, one in France, 2 in the states, and one in Canada.

Something else I really like about Stillpoint is that they offer classes and retreats where you can learn about the metaphysics of essential oils, if they are safe for your pet, etc. I’m a sucker for additional resources and customer service because when I get started with something I do a lot of research.

Selection

Stillpoint’s selection is insane! They have every oil you need – and more you probably haven’t even thought about! Their website is super easy to navigate and you can shop by the following options: chakras & energetics, aromas, therapeutic benefits, chemistry, and best sellers.

They also sell aromatherapy patches, kits, blends, cleaning and crafting, and supplies. It’s basically a one-stop shop.

Stillpoint Aromatics Brand Rating

Overall, I love what I’m seeing at Stillpoint Aromatics. They are super transparent about their quality, have decent pricing, and an incredible selection. Also, fantastic customer service! The founder and owner, Virginia Joy answered promptly and kindly.

I’m giving Stillpoint Aromatics an A+ which means out of this world value, quality, and experience for customers. Stillpoint Aromatics is ideal for using essential oils for therapeutic benefits and for those that want to make essential oils use a lifestyle. Companies that get an A+ often go above and beyond in customer service.

  1. I agree with your assessment. A+. When friends tried to “introduce” to their MLM essential oil sources, I veered away as I’m not a fan of MLM supply chains … I believe they offer inferior quality and payments to everyone in their chain. I wanted quality, research and learning opportunities. I got that with Stillpoint. You get what you pay for. I know it from the nose. I know it from Virginias engagement with her clients.
