You’ve found yourself here because you are in search of the best essential oil brand. Maybe you’re just getting started with essential oils or maybe you’ve been a long time user and are looking for better quality or cheaper alternatives. Whatever the reason, you’re probably curious about REVIVE essential oils and whether or not it’s the right brand for you.
REVIVE essential oils is a newer company that not many people know about. It was started with one mission in mind: “Make the highest quality essential oils accessible and affordable to everyone so everyone could afford to live naturally.” In this article, we’re going to review REVIVE and come to a conclusion on whether or not they succeed at their mission.
When choosing your perfect essential oil company there are a couple things that need to be reviewed first: price, quality, and selection. And in this article, I am going to deep dive into REVIVE essential oils and rate them on a scale of A+ to F based on price, selection, and quality. To read up on the specifics of our rating scale go here.
Before deciding which brand is best for you, it’s crucial that you have a clear goal in mind. Are you looking to use essential oils to whip up some non-toxic cleaning recipes or do you want some serious therapeutic benefits? If you just want to create some DIY cleaning recipes than opting for a cheaper not-so-pure essential oil company is not the worst idea. But if you want to kick your insomnia to the curb, calm anxious feelings, or boost brain power, then you are going to need the authentic, potent stuff. So set your goal and after reading this article you’ll know if REVIVE essential oils is the right brand or you.
The Basics: Who is REVIVE Essential Oils
Born in San Francisco, REVIVE essential oils is a family-owned and operated company that says they work to provide customers with the highest quality essential oils while maintaining ethical farming practices.
CEO Alexandria George has always been passionate about natural living. On a mission to make natural living remedies accessible to everyone, her family got together with Suleman Ali and created REVIVE Essential Oils. They say they source their essential oils while maintaining ethical and sustainable farming practices. And that is HUGE these days. So let’s get into the good stuff, are REVIVE essential oils really accessible to everyone?
UPDATE: REVIVE essential oils are now available at Walmart. This means that they are no longer the mom and pop shop we originally thought they were. So if you want to support small business, REVIVE may not be your brand anymore.
Price
One of REVIVE’s missions is to make essential oils and natural living accessible and affordable to everyone. Let’s look at 3 of the most popular essential oils to see how they fall on a price scale.
Lavender $13.50 15 mL*, $19.50 organic 15 mL*
Frankincense $27 organic 15 mL*
Peppermint $10.50 15 mL*, $16.50 organic 15 mL*
*Note: They don’t actually carry 15 mL sizes. They have a variety, but these numbers were calculated by multiplying the 10 mL size in order to compare (apples to apples) to other brands.
These prices are average! So far, one of the great things about REVIVE is that their essential oils are totally affordable (but not too cheap)- especially when they not that their oils are ethically sourced and wild-crafted. Which is what we will talk about next.
Quality
On the REVIVE essential oils website, they say that their essential oils are 100% pure, therapeutic grade, and free-of synthetic fragrances, odor enhancers, and synthetic aroma chemicals. But something that I immediately noticed when doing my research is that there is no section that deep dives into their quality or testing. While they do tell readers that they verify the purity and potency of their oils through third party testing and GC/MS tests and that they send every batch of essential oils to Dr. Pappas’ renowned essential oil lab before selling- I would like to see more transparency than what their site currently offers.
Besides GC/MS testing, REVIVE includes 19 other tests include light sensitivity, viscometry, and pH testing. But they still don’t go too much into it, which can be a red flag for me. Here is the most I found on their site about what they have to say about their essential oil quality:
Sourcing: all plant ingredients are sourced sustainably from each plant’s indigenous climate. The land that the plant thrives on. One part I like about REVIVE’s sourcing methods is that they opt to buy from family-owned farms or smaller companies; farmers who lives are closely tied to the land. They also only source from organic or wild-crafted sources. While this all sounds good, they don’t support it with much proof or research.
Selection
You may be thinking that such a new, small company wouldn’t have as many options as you would like. It’s actually quite the opposite with REVIVE essential oils.
REVIVE offers a full line of essential oil starter kits, single oils, carrier oils, essential oil blends, and diffusers. Pick from 11 different essential oil kits, 93 single essential oils (6 of the most popular essential oils are available organically) and 40 blends.
Too attached to your big name brand blend? Search their site for blends that are the most similar to your favorites.
REVIVE Essential Oils Rating
REVIVE offers 100% guaranteed returns if you don’t like what you ordered, and that means that they really believe in their product. Their products are currently available through their website. And on Walmart.
I’m giving a B to REVIVE essential oils. The good news: REVIVE offers a great selection at an affordable price. The reason why they fall at a B is because I want to see more information about their commitment to quality. While their mission sounds promising, I’m not sure if I fully trust their quality yet.
Who is REVIVE for?
Looking at selection alone, REVIVE essential oils seem perfect for families. Not only are they family owned and operated, but they offer a huge variety of essential oil kits formulated specifically for kids. They say that they use their essential oils on their kids and that for me, means they believe in their product. But now with the news that they have their product available in Walmart, they are no longer a small mom and pop shop.
would need to see more quality transparency. I definitely don’t want to use something on my kids that I can’t guarantee is 100% natural and safe. If they improve on their quality category then I would consider increasing their rating.
If you’re looking for a variety of affordable essential oils, then REVIVE may be for you.
Now I want to hear from you. Have you heard about REVIVE essential oils before landing here? And if you have, have you used them and what was your experience? After reading, what are your thoughts? Do you think this may be the perfect brand for you?! Drop a comment below and let me know!
Thanks for this! I have been using Revive and they seem fine. Although I agree about the transparency…plus’s I can’t find the CEO Alexandria George anywhere. Honestly, I am second guessing my decision and want to learn more about their practices, sustainability sourcing and community give back.
Walmart sounds fishy to me.
Thanks again for this helpful post.
You’re welcome, Nicki! It’s so important to be proactive in your essential oil research and ask questions about sourcing, sustainability and quality. It sounds like you are already doing that! Let us know if we can help with any of those questions.
I haven’t received my “first” order yet, but I’m also second guessing my order. I just noticed that the Latin name of the oil isn’t on the label. I might be wrong, but I’m pretty sure it’s a requirement.
Hi! Thank you so much for reaching out. The essential oils industry is largely unregulated, so they don’t technically require the latin name to be on the label (although I like when a brand has it!) I rated Revive a B, which is good compared to the many others we’ve reviewed. They also have a 100% money back guarantee! Let me know your thoughts when you get them.
I’m not sure how long along your article was written by I have to comment that I looked up Revive essential oils on Walmart and only found the starter kit and a bottle of lavender, both sold by a third party and at a much higher price then on Revive website. I’m not sure Revive has control over that. I’ve never seen their oils on the shelf at Walmart. It is now sold on Amazon, which at least does come from Revive but is $10 higher. I’ve been very happy with their oils and finally cut my ties with DoTerra. Also, I looked at every bottle I have and I assume what’s considered the “Latin” name is on the ingredients part of the back label on all of them. Hope this helps!
Hi, thanks for your comment and updated info! So happy that you have found a essential oil company that you love.
