In part two of our two-part episode, Why Am I So Tired, we’re discussing seven more key signs of adrenal fatigue. If you can‘t seem to quit caffeine or find mental clarity, this episode is for you.
When you struggle with adrenal fatigue, healing takes much longer. If you used to get over a cold in a few days, but now it takes a few weeks to “function” again, that is a sign of adrenal fatigue. There’s also a good chance that your blood sugar is all out of whack. Maybe you go from feeling pretty good and energized to slumped.
Beyond see-sawing between feeling good and feeling horrible, you may also feel numb or sad. Feelings of hopelessness and lack of control over your life are common with those experiencing adrenal fatigue.
Erica also talks about the relationship between adrenal fatigue and increased PMS symptoms. If you suffer from adrenal fatigue, you can also experience increased mood swings, cramps, bloating, headaches, and fatigue during your period.
Another sign of adrenal fatigue is dependence on stimulants like caffeine, energy drinks, and sugar. If you feel like you can’t make it through the day without caffeine, you probably need to support your adrenals.
Those with adrenal fatigue also lack mental clarity. If you feel like you lose your train of thought easily or have difficulty making decisions, you may have adrenal fatigue. And finally, the last symptom is being locked into the adrenal fatigue cycle. This looks like not waking up fully until 10 am, struggling with energy between 3 and 4, feeling better after dinner, and then getting a surge of energy after 10/11pm.
Adrenal fatigue can wreak havoc on your life. If these symptoms resonate with you, we recommend drinking lemon water in the morning, ditching caffeine for one week, and rest rest rest!
