I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was six and put on Adderall in the 6th grade. I had trouble focusing; I was easily distractible, fidgety, and over-energetic.
When I was taking medication, I felt disconnected from myself, and I had a lot of insecurity. I thought there was something wrong with me, that I was broken. Unfortunately, having ADHD and taking medicine almost gave me permission to act out.
