Researching for the best essential oil brand for you is a daunting task. Opinions from big essential oil companies to blog posts to your second-cousin are all overflowing in your mind – which can make it even more overwhelming and confusing. Who knew that was possible?
Essential oils are being sold everywhere these days. With the comeback of natural remedies and strategies to treat common ailments, even the gas station down the street is carrying them! Grocery stores, speciality stores, mom-and-pop shops, and the world wide web are just some of the places you’ll find essential oils. But you’re not one to impulsively buy, you like to do your research so that you know you’re getting some bang for your buck. You’re like me. And my researching-prone brain is one of my favorite parts about myself.
You’ve probably found yourself here on this page because you’ve heard about Hopewell Essential Oils and you want an objective review on them. Well, good, because that’s exactly what you’re going to get.
But before we go any further, it’s critical that you have a clear goal in mind. What do you want to use essential oils for? Are you just getting started and are interested in a brand that offers additional resources, education, and support? Or do you just want to ditch synthetic candles and set up an essential oil diffuser in your home?
Your goal is going to help determine what brand is best for you. If you’re just looking to make your laundry smell good than opting for a cheaper brand is not the worst idea. If you want to reap all the therapeutic benefits of essential oils and make them a lifestyle, than a high-quality band you can trust is a must.
In this article I’m going to review and rate Hopewell Essential Oils on a scale of A+-F based on price, quality, and selection. To learn more about our scale, go here.
So now that we’ve got our goal in mind, let’s figure out if Hopewell Essential Oils is the company for you.
The Basics: Who is Hopewell Essential Oils
Hopewell Essential Oils (which used to be Heritage Essential Oils, in case you’ve heard of their previous brand name!) has its roots in a small family general store with the mission to serve its community. Eventually, they grew into a larger scale online essential oil business that still manages to keep that communal feeling.
Price
The Hopewell essential oils prices are somewhere in the moderate range. Their domestic shipping is a at rate of $6, which is pretty affordable and convenient for budgeting your repeat orders. Here’s an overview of what you can expect:
Lavender $17.95 for 15mL
Frankincense $19.00 for 15mL
Peppermint $10.00 for 15mL
Selection
This collection is seriously dense – you can find just about any essential oil single you could ever want, as well as a large variety of blends. They even have a “Gentle Blends” collection suitable for pregnant women, breastfeeding women, and children. They also have a decent selection of sizes. There are three different sizes of dropper bottles and three different sizes of pourable bottles for almost every oil. This is helpful if you are purchasing higher priced oils. You can choose a smaller size.
Quality
Hopewell Essential Oils has a great, informative webpage all about their quality standards, which helps you fully understand exactly what you’re buying. They go over all the standard tests they use – including the important GC-MC and FTIR, among others. They even share the key constituents from their GC-MS analysis on each oil’s webpage. The oils include their botanical name, method of extraction, country of origin, and cultivation time/year. Hopewell Essential Oils provides thorough information on each oil.
Side note: When you click on their individual essential oil pages, they link to research and articles you may find informative – my research-centered brain just loves this!
Hopewell Essential Oils Rating
Bottom Line: Hopewell Essential Oils ticks off all the marks I have for being a reliable company allowing itself to get an A on our scale. Though I’ve never used their oils before, their website, large selection, and up-front research makes me really happy. They seem genuine about wanting to educate their customer base and showcase the variety of ways each oil can offer therapeutic benefits. The only complaint that I have is that the website isn’t very modern and they don’t show the actual essential oil bottles on each page. I like to see exactly what the bottle looks like that I’m ordering. But that’s a minor offense.
An A rating means this company has really great value and quality. These oils are ideal for therapeutic benefits and for those that want to use essential oils as a lifestyle. They may not offer some of the perks and other nuances of higher rated companies, but they still make a good mark in my book.
I use Hopewell and absolutely love this oils, their prices, and their ethic. Great, great family run company!
